The challenge

Components for discontinued electrical hardware were no longer available. Reproducing the functional geometry was necessary without access to the original injection-mould tooling.

The approach

Supplied two-dimensional technical drawings were used to reverse-engineer the replacement hinges and clips. The new components were manufactured in ABS.

The practical value

Reverse engineering provided a route to producing the required geometry without commissioning the original mould tooling.
